SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY

Mechanical Removals & Installations Ltd ("MRI Ltd")

 

1. Purpose

This policy defines MRI Ltd’s commitment to operating as a responsible, ethical and accountable business.

As a specialist contractor delivering lifting, transport and installation services, MRI Ltd recognises that its activities impact employees, clients, supply chain partners, local communities and the environment. This policy sets out how those impacts are managed responsibly.

This policy is informed by the principles of ISO 26000 (Guidance on Social Responsibility) and supports the company’s commitment to ethical, sustainable and responsible operations.

 

2. Scope

This policy applies to all MRI Ltd operations within the United Kingdom, including:

  • Mechanical & electrical removals and installations

  • AP-led lifting operations and lift planning

  • Plant movement and specialist handling

  • Transport and heavy haulage activities

  • Fabrication and associated works

  • Storage and logistics operations

It applies to all employees, management personnel, subcontractors and supply chain partners engaged in activities on behalf of MRI Ltd.

 

3. Responsibilities

Responsibility for social responsibility and ethical conduct is defined as follows:

  • Managing Director
    Overall accountability for social responsibility, ethical conduct and company values

  • Management Team
    Responsible for implementing responsible practices across operations and ensuring alignment with company standards

  • Supervisors & Operational Leads
    Responsible for ensuring that work is carried out in a safe, fair and respectful manner on all sites

  • Employees and Operatives
    Responsible for acting in a professional, respectful and responsible manner at all times

  • Supply Chain & Subcontractors
    Expected to operate in line with MRI Ltd’s ethical standards and responsible business practices

4.7 Operational Responsibility

MRI Ltd will ensure that:

  • Lifting, transport and installation operations are planned and delivered responsibly

  • Activities are coordinated to minimise disruption, risk and environmental impact

  • Work is carried out with consideration for clients, stakeholders and the public

 

4.8 Compliance

MRI Ltd will:

  • Comply with all relevant UK legislation relating to employment, equality and business conduct

  • Operate in line with the principles of ISO 26000

  • Maintain appropriate policies and procedures supporting responsible business practices

 

5. Continuous Improvement

MRI Ltd is committed to continuous improvement by:

  • Reviewing social responsibility objectives and performance regularly

  • Monitoring working practices, stakeholder feedback and operational performance

  • Identifying opportunities to improve ethical, environmental and social standards

  • Strengthening responsible practices across operations and supply chain

 

6. Review

This policy will be:

  • Reviewed regularly and at least annually to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness

  • Updated in line with changes to legislation, business activities and industry best practice
